The GetGoing programme is user led and is designed as a referral and recommendation site that will bring together locations and users in one place so as to allow a free flow of information between shareholders (members) and partners (agents). There are also kick backs in the form of free holidays for any individuals involved in the programme as a result of the pooling of resources.

OVERVIEW:

We have developed the Stigma.org.uk website to tackle head on the issue of how stigma affects the majority of people who have physical, mental and social difficulties. We are also in the situation of having to defend ourselves against injurious comments from others and also feelings of inadequacy brought about by media generated opinions regarding such things as mental and physical health issues and including social causes of stigma. We are convinced that our website is going to be successful and we are adding information regularly that we hope will help others to learn about stigma, educate others and thereby change the future for people affected by stigma in any way.

With this in mind we have been researching and planning an idea which has sprung from the Penumbra approach of supported accommodation in the UK. We thought: "Why should the idea be restricted to the UK when the only difference between our idea and Penumbra are the travelling costs?"

If the idea is good it will work if not it will sit idly by while other ideas come and go. If individuals are interested then let them be the judge. So far the judgement has been on our side; professionals and sufferers have both been in contact with us and spoken in favour asking "Where can we go, and, what do we need to do to take part in this programme?"

Hopefully as you look around the site the answers will come fast and furious because the answer is only one - YOU DECIDE and we arrange the finer details.
